Warrior Alumni Make Their Mark!

The Boca Warriors' alumni story continues on!
The Warrior alumni story continues to grow—producing a Florida State Champion, a National Track Champion, individual state qualifiers, school record-holders and the first Boca Warrior to advance to an NCAA running program.
Many of these runners helped produce two of the greatest moments in club history: the Warrior girls’ 2021 Florida Middle School Cross Country Championship and the boys’ state runner-up finish that same season.
Here is where some of those Warriors are today.
Will Moss
From a Warrior state runner-up to a Florida State Champion—and a National Champion on the track.
What a journey for Will Moss!
The Montverde Academy rising senior completed a dream 2025 cross-country season by winning the FHSAA Class 2A state championship. Will also won his district and regional championships and was named the Florida Dairy Farmers Class 2A Boys Cross Country Runner of the Year.
That followed an outstanding track season in which Will won the 2025 Adidas Outdoor Nationals two-mile championship. He also earned 2025 Lake–Sumter All-County honors in the 1,600 meters and as a member of Montverde’s 4×800-meter relay.
Will has already competed at four consecutive FHSAA cross-country state championships—beginning as an eighth-grader and continuing through his junior season. A member of the Warriors’ 2021 middle-school boys state runner-up team with Scott, Erik and Jeremy, Will now enters his senior year with an opportunity to add another chapter to an already remarkable career.
Scott S. Sanok
Four straight State Meets—and the 1st Boca Warrior to advance onto an NCAA running program.
Scott was another important member of the Warriors’ 2021 middle-school state runner-up team.
As a Boca Raton Christian freshman, he was named the school’s Boys' Cross Country Most Valuable Runner and qualified for states as an individual.
Scott medaled in all cross country District and Regional meets throughout high school, and helped Westminster Academy win three consecutive district team championships and regional championships in 2024 and 2025.
He earned All-County cross-country recognition through all 4 seasons, culminating in Second Team honors from both the Miami Herald and Sun Sentinel as a senior.
Scott completed his high-school career by placing 30th at the 2025 FHSAA Class 1A State Championship. He will continue running at NCAA Division II Chadron State College, competing in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference, one of the nation's toughest Division II distance-running conferences. NCAA estimates show that only 4% of boys participating in high-school cross-country reach Division I or Division II.
Erik Moss
From an elementary state champion to a postseason top-seven runner and state-meet scorer for one of Florida’s strongest programs.
Erik won a Florida elementary-school 1,500-meter championship with the Warriors before continuing his development at Spanish River. Earning a position in Spanish River’s starting seven is a major accomplishment in itself.
As a sophomore in 2025, Erik competed in every postseason race for the perennial powerhouse, helping the Sharks win district and regional championships. At States, he became Spanish River’s fifth scorer and helped the boys place third in Class 4A.
Erik has also shown considerable speed on the track. As a freshman, he broke five minutes in the 1,600 with a 4:57.29 and ran 10:25.68 for 3,200 meters. He finished fifth in the 3,200 at the 2025 district championship.
Jett Weitzen
From a state-meet runner at FAU High to a top-seven varsity contributor at Spanish River.
At FAU High, Jett earned a position in the Owls’ starting seven and helped the team qualify for the 2023 Florida High School Cross Country State Championship. He recorded a season-best 19:16.70 at the Palm Beach County Championships before representing FAU High at states.
After moving to Spanish River, Jett earned a place among the Sharks’ top seven during the 2025 regular season—no small accomplishment in one of Florida’s deepest cross-country programs. He ran 17:59 for 5K and placed 12th overall—and fourth for Spanish River—while helping the Sharks win the Jensen Beach Invitational.
Jett carried that progress onto the track in 2026, winning an 800-meter race in 2:05.68 and lowering his personal bests to 4:40.72 in the 1,600 and 10:10.05 in the 3,200 meters.
Jeremy Lopez
One of the original Warriors is now Boca Christian’s No. 1 cross-country runner.
Jeremy was among the first runners at the inaugural Boca Warriors practice in 2019, with Scott.
Jeremy Lopez established himself as Boca Christian’s No. 1 boys’ cross country runner during the 2025 season. As only a sophomore, he earned selection to both the NCSAA Southeast Super-Region Team and MileSplit’s Miami All-City All-Sophomore Team.
Jeremy also advanced to the FHSAA Class 1A Region 4 Championship, where he ran a season-best 18:01.8 against one of South Florida’s strongest small-school fields.
Alexandra Palekar
A Warrior middle-school champion who became a two-time high-school state qualifier.
Alex helped the Warrior girls win the 2021 Florida Middle School Cross Country Championship before advancing to high-school states with American Heritage in both 2023 and 2024.
She placed sixth at the regional championship in a personal-best 19:40.40 and followed it with a 37th-place finish at the 2024 FHSAA Cross Country State Championship.
In track, Alex swept the 800, 1,600 and 3,200-meter district championships in 2025. She then placed fifth at the regional championship in both the 1,600 and 3,200 meters.
She followed that performance with another excellent district meet in 2026. She successfully defended her 1,600-meter district championship in 5:33.00, placed second in the 800 in 2:29.37 and finished fourth in the 3,200 in 13:17.07. She subsequently placed 10th at regionals in both the 800 and 1,600 meters.
Victoria Stern
West Boca High School’s most decorated female distance runner—and its first girls cross-country state qualifier.
Victoria became the first girl in West Boca Raton High School history to advance to the FHSAA Cross Country State Championships. She ultimately qualified twice as an individual, competing in the Class 4A state meet in both 2021 and 2023.
During her career, Victoria also became a multiple-time Palm Beach Post All-County cross-country selection.
West Boca High’s student publication named her as the school’s most decorated female distance runner, crediting her with school records in the 1,600, 3,200, 5K and 4×800-meter relay.
Makaela Morilla
A freshman top-three scorer for a district champion, regional champion and state runner-up.
What a freshman year for Makaela!
A former Boca Warriors standout, Makaela made an immediate impact at Spanish River. She finished as the Sharks’ third runner at the district, regional and state cross-country championships, helping the perennial powerhouse win district and regional titles before finishing second in Class 4A at states. Makaela placed 21st individually at the state championship.
Her success continued during the 2026 track season. Makaela won the district championship and placed second at regionals in the 800 meters before earning an FHSAA state medal with an eighth-place finish and personal-best time of 2:13.77. She also ran on Spanish River’s state-champion 4×800-meter relay, which won in 9:05.49.
Makaela’s connection to the Spanish River course began before high school. Representing the Boca Warriors in 2024, she ran 11:00.97 to establish the Spanish River Invitational middle-school 3K meet and course record.
Barbarita Jedlicka
A regional podium finish carried Barbarita to states as an individual qualifier.
Running for St. John Paul II Academy, Barbarita placed third at the 2025 regional championship and advanced to states as an individual. She completed her freshman season with an impressive 21st-place finish at the Class 2A state championship.
Barbarita quickly established herself as one of Palm Beach County’s most promising young runners, earning Palm Beach Post Athlete of the Week honors during her freshman season. A multiple-time Athlete of the Week nominee, she had already distinguished herself with Boca Warriors by posting one of the fastest middle-school 3K performances ever recorded on the South County course.
Barbarita later returned to the Warriors and won the 3,000 meters at the 2026 AAU Regional Qualifier.
Kendall Parrott
A district cross-country champion—and a double district champion on the track.
Kendall continued her rise as one of South Florida's top young distance runners after beginning her career at Coral Springs Charter, where she earned Broward County honorable mention recognition in track and field and was recognized as a Panther of the Week for cross country.
After transferring to St. Thomas Aquinas, Kendall captured the 2025 FHSAA Class 4A District 7 individual cross-country championship, helping lead the Raiders to the district team title and a berth at the FHSAA State Championships.
She continued that success on the track in 2026 by winning district championships in both the 1,600 and 3,200 meters, establishing herself as one of the area's premier distance runners.
The Foundation Behind Their Success
The finish lines changed. The foundation did not.
Coach Crate has always emphasized patient development, consistency, sound racing habits and preparation for the next level. Those lessons can now be seen in former Warriors becoming individual state qualifiers, championship-team contributors, All-County honorees, school record-holders, state champions and NCAA athletes.
The runners earned every accomplishment, but their continued growth reflects the foundation Coach Crate and the Boca Warriors helped establish during some of the most important developmental years of their running careers.
