Wow! Wow! Wow! ... and Wow!
What a weekend our Boca Warriors had 3/27 - 3/28 !
Saturday at The Pompano Xpress Track Club Annual Xtravaganza and Sunday at The Miami Elite Track Invitational.
We had so many of our Athletes run great, many running strong and getting new personal bests and some medaling.
4 special shout-outs though, and in no particular order, since all 4 of these athletes performed incredible.
Be prepared to get some goosebumps !
Juan Blanco qualified for Middle School States in the 800 meters (15-16 year old boys) with a new PR of 2:16.96. Juan came close to qualifying in earlier races, kept training hard and turned in a stellar performance.
Here's Juan's strong finish:
McKenzie Ferdine showed the heart of a champion and showed what consistent and diligent practices results in ... passing the leader on the final turn and running a 1500 meter 5:17:81 (13-14 year old girls).
Watch with one lap to go, as McKenzie behind by about 60 meters, puts on the jets and takes it home:
Tristan Stephenson powered through the finish line, coming from far back on the final turn to cross the finish line first by a mere .09 seconds in the 800 meters finals (11-12 year old boys).

Emily Pymm placed 1st in the Girls' 1500 (11-12), with a new PR of 5:22:41, powering through the entire race, overtaking the leader on the final lap. Emily's consistency in practice has been key to her staying in running shape in order to finish each race strong.
