It was a special 2 days watching all of our Warrior Kids out at Lakeland, FL, striving to do their best at the 2024 FLYRA MS State Cross Country Championship.
Congrats to all of the 40+ kids who practiced hard and came out strong in this premier event. Some are just starting their journey & just beginning to comprehend what a special running family they have become part of. Some are veterans and their passion to run, discipline and dedication are shining through now with new personal bests, top placements and awards.
For some, running is just a way to get fit & to have some fun camaraderie, while others pursue it to become the best they can be - or both! :) Whatever the reason, we are thankful and glad for each and everyone of our runners.
State Champions & Crushing Records
Arielle Gorlovetzky closed out a dominate regular season by taking 1st and the title of State Champion in the Girls' 3rd - 5th Grades 2000m race. (She also took 1st in her other 2000m races this year).
It's an understatement to say that Arielle showed up big; she broke the Girls' 2K Meet and Course Record with a time of 7:26.06, breaking her own record of 7:29.03.
Brody Milek took 1st overall in the K-2 1K, with an outstanding time of 3:35.46. Brody continued his impressive regular season growth by stepping up his game and crossing the finish line ahead of a strong field of competitors to become the State Champion.
