LAKELAND, Fla. — Two team championships. Two individual winners. Experienced runners delivering on a big stage—and newcomers discovering just how much they can accomplish.

The Boca Warriors brought depth, determination, and growing confidence to the 27th FLRunners.com Invitational at Holloway Park, Friday, October 2nd. The elementary boys powered to victory with just 19 points, while the middle-school girls captured the Friday 3K team title with 29 points. Across the races, Warriors athletes gave their teammates and families plenty to cheer about.

The defending champions from Boca won their back-to-back title decisively, scoring 19 points under memorable inclement rain, with seven Warriors finishing among the first 11 runners in a field of 141.

For families new to cross-country scoring, think golf: the lowest score wins. A team’s first five eligible scorers determine its total, and the minimum possible score is 15—the sum of first through fifth. Boca finished just four points above that perfect score. Team-scoring places can differ from overall finishes because runners who are not part of complete scoring teams are excluded from the team calculation.

Brody Milek captured the individual title in 7:56.40, finishing nearly five seconds clear of the runner-up. Gabe Lehmkuhl followed in third, and Roger White placed fifth, giving the Warriors three athletes among the first five finishers.

The next wave of 4th graders arrived almost immediately. Andrew Conley finished sixth, just 0.27 seconds behind Roger, and Zander Noal took seventh. Micah Howard, tenth, and Toby Barot, eleventh, completed an outstanding front group.

The strength continued throughout the pipeline lineup. Sam Lehmkuhl finished 19th, followed by newcomers Landon Glasser in 26th, Daniel Stone in 27th, and Logan Lopez in 47th. First-grader Tucker Ayer placed 65th, finishing in the top half of the field.

From the race winner to the youngest Warrior, this was a team performance worth celebrating, and we did it!

Middle-School Girls Win with Depth to Spare

Boca Warriors delivered a commanding performance in the Friday middle-school girls’ 3K. Against 265 runners, Boca placed six athletes among the top 15 and won the team competition with 29 points, comfortably ahead of runner-up WIND Runners’ 73. Twenty complete teams competed.

Camila Boucher led the way with the individual victory in 11:11.80, adding another standout result to a season—and a year—already filled with accomplishments. Watch out, world.

Teaming up with Camila, the Wonderful Warriors kept coming strong:

  • Katerina Skutnik — 3rd

  • Teju Minnamareddy — 6th

  • Olivia Aaronson — 10th

  • Faith Gladstone — 11th

  • Hayden Frey — 14th

All six earned places in the race’s top-15 podium group.

Daniela Boucher followed in 19th, Norah Kraev in 28th, Haysa Ebrahim in 30th, and Adelina Ching in 36th. That put ten Warriors among the first 36 finishers—a powerful demonstration of the team’s depth.

Newcomer Nishi also deserves recognition. After only a few practices, she took on the full 3K and finished 166th, ahead of 99 other runners. For an athlete just beginning her running journey, stepping onto that crowded starting line and completing the challenge was an achievement of its own.

Championship teams need front-runners, dependable teammates, and young athletes willing to learn. The Warriors showed all three, merit of the teamwork!

Three Middle-School Boys on the Podium—and a Brave Return

The Friday middle-school boys’ 3K brought together 342 runners, and Boca’s three veterans made their presence felt near the front.

Brayden Milek raced to second place in 10:30.17, Banks Stroup charged to fourth in 10:41.97, and Logan Minors secured eighth in 10:55.76. All three earned podium medals.

Meanwhile, Oliver Valderrama returned with a 99th-place finish, breaking into the top 100 in a field of more than 340 boys.

Well done, Oliver, you were so missed. Confidence grows through experiences like this—and having the courage to restart is part of that progress.

Elementary Girls Show What Is Coming Next

Two of the Warriors’ newer elementary girls gained valuable experience in the more than 100-runner 2K field where the warriors hold a handful of Golden Trophies.

Fourth-grader Medley Gromosaik finished 24th, while third-grader Sasha Uditsky placed 38th. Both finished in the top 40 as they continued learning how to compete in larger fields.

Coach Crate sees exciting potential in every kid who braves thru these challenges. With consistent training, determination, and time to develop, he believes they can grow into contenders for future race wins.

For now, these performances give them something equally valuable: experience, confidence, and a reason to look forward to the next starting line.

Cross-Borders: Diane Fiederer is the Vice-European Spartan Champion

Diane travels the Warriors spirit and her long-tenure practice across borders and brings Boca an impressive international achievement to celebrate. Diane Fiederer earned a European runner-up finish in France in official Spartan girls, taking her athletic ambitions beyond the cross-country and track and field course and onto the demanding terrain of obstacle-course racing. Her silver-medal & Trophy performance adds an exciting chapter to a sporting journey that also includes accolades such as the coveted Florida Spartan Trifecta Champion ring and All American javelin throwing title. Spartan racing asks athletes to combine running endurance with strength, coordination, and the ability to approach each new obstacle with focus and composure. For Diane, competing overseas meant bringing those skills together on an international stage—a memorable accomplishment for a young athlete and a proud moment for her Warriors teammates. Her story inspires the possibilities that open up when children develop a strong athletic foundation and the confidence to explore new challenges. From South Florida to France, Diane is showing that a Warrior’s ambitions can reach well beyond one sport or one finish line. Congratulations, Diane—we look forward to cheering for your next adventure!

Pine Crest Meet 2: Two Elementary Team Wins at Home

The FLRunners success followed another strong outing at Pine Crest Middle School Meet #2 on September 29, at South County Regional Park in Boca Raton. The elementary boys swept the first six places: Brody first, Roger second, Micah third, Gabe fourth, Andrew fifth, and Toby sixth, securing a perfect 15-point team score ahead of A.D. Henderson’s 58. Landon and Sam added eighth- and ninth-place finishes. The elementary girls also won their team competition, scoring 24 points to Parkway Christian’s 31. Medley placed second, Sasha third, and Marina fourth, with Chloe Ricard seventh and Sara Paes eighth completing the winning lineup. Two team victories on familiar ground provided another encouraging step toward the championship portion of the season.

Jasmarie Hernandez Crowned Broward County Middle School Champion

On October 9, Jasmarie Hernandez delivered another championship performance, winning the 2026 Broward County Middle School Cross-Country Championship while representing Somerset Riverside Middle School in Coral Springs. Competing against a field of 181 girls, Jasmarie rose to the occasion and crossed the finish line first, earning the county title through determination, consistent training and the confidence to compete at her best when it mattered most. The Boca Warriors are proud to see Jasmarie carry her talent, strength and competitive spirit into her school season—and continue establishing herself as one of South Florida’s most promising young distance runners.

Once a Warrior, Always a Warrior: Will Moss Wins the Race of Champions

The Warriors’ success at FLRunners extended beyond our current roster.

On October 3, former Boca Warrior Will Moss won the high-school boys’ Race of Champions, representing Montverde Academy. Will crossed the finish line in 16:02.23, nearly 12 seconds ahead of the runner-up.

For Coach Crate and longtime Warriors families, that victory carries special meaning. Will was one of the five scoring runners on Boca’s 2021 state runner-up boys’ team. Today, he leads Montverde as its No. 1 runner—a proud example of a young Warrior continuing to develop and excel through high school.

And Will is far from alone.

According to Coach Crate’s alumni update, former Warriors now include two of Spanish River’s top three girls and two of its top five boys; the top two girls at St. John Paul; the leading girl and boy at American Heritage Plantation; and the top girl at St. Thomas Aquinas.

Different uniforms, different schools, and new goals—but a shared chapter in their running journeys. Their accomplishments give today’s elementary and middle-school Warriors something tangible to imagine: the teammates training beside them now may become tomorrow’s high-school leaders.

Congratulations to Will and all our alumni. We’re still cheering for you.

Gold Coast: Another Perfect Score and Two Elementary Team Victories

The elementary Warriors kept their momentum rolling on October 15 at South County Regional Park, winning both elementary team competitions held alongside the Gold Coast MS Conference Championships.

The boys delivered another perfect 15-point score, sweeping the first six places in the 1.5-mile race. This time, Andrew Conley claimed the individual victory in 9:15.27, with Gabriel  just 0.30 seconds behind in 9:15.57. It was a close finish between teammates—and a powerful start to another dominant team performance.

Giancarlo Zafrilla finished third in 9:20.68, followed by Micah Howard in fourth and Riaan Barot in fifth to complete the perfect-scoring group. 3rd grader Landon Glasser took sixth, giving Boca every place in the opening six.

The Warriors also placed Kent Viswanathan ninth and Logan Lopez tenth, putting eight teammates in the top ten. Samuel Hirakuri Lehmkuhl followed in 18th, Daniel Stone in 20th, Binny Stein in 21st, Tucker Ayer in 24th, Chase Wolfson in 27th, and Jedidiah Coltharp in 42nd.

The elementary girls added a team victory of their own, with their five scorers totaling 24 points, ahead of Parkway Christian’s 33.

Medley Gromosaik led the Warriors in second place, running 11:33.72 and finishing just over two seconds behind the winner. Chloe Ricard and Sasha Uditsky crossed almost together in fourth and fifth, clocking 11:57.74 and 11:57.91—only 0.17 seconds apart. Ivy Riskind placed sixth, and Marina Ding finished seventh to complete the scoring five. Sara Paes, ninth, and Abigail Nettles, twelfth, rounded out the Warriors’ lineup.

Another perfect boys’ score. Another girls’ team win. And another afternoon of young athletes gaining experience, racing alongside their friends, and contributing to something bigger than an individual result.

Congratulations to all our elementary Warriors, and thank you to the families who keep showing up and supporting their progress.

Every Athlete’s Progress Matters

The trophies and podium finishes tell an exciting story, but so do the first races, the growing confidence, and the teammates learning to support one another.

Thank you to every athlete who represented the Warriors, and to the parents whose commitment makes these opportunities possible—from getting children to practice to supporting them on race day. Thank you, coach Crate you are the best leader ever.

The Warriors are building championship preparation together, one practice and one finish line at a time.
