Determined Boca Warriors' M.S. Team Starts 2022 XC Season

The Boca Warriors Middle School Squad opened the 2022 Cross Country Season with a short-handed team, BUT still made a strong statement Saturday, August 27th at the 14th Annual Jim Ryun Invitational in Lakeland, FL.

Middle School Girls

Despite being without 2 of our top runners (Alex & Emily) and our #5 from last years' State Championship MS Girls' Team (Vicki) recovering from an injury, the rest of the team placed 3rd out of 15 teams ... just 3 points out of 2nd place.

The Girls' were led by veteran Gianna Gallego who made the podium top 10, as the 6th overall runner.

The Team had solid performances by team veterans Ellie Morgan (15th), Lilyann Sierra (16th) & Isabella Kovacs (19th) out of 152 runners. Brand new 6th grader Barbarita Jedlicka, who just started running & has not trained full time was our #5 today, coming in 25th overall.

A very hobbled Victoria Zea still came in 54th & in her first CC race 6th grader Liliana Torrelio came in 78th. Nice showing out of 152 runners.

These girls did what they had to do, and put in their best effort.

Middle School Boys

There was only 1 Middle School boy representing the Warrior Middle School Boys' Team today, but he put in a phenomenal performance. Congratulations to 7th grader, Jeremy Lopez for finishing 18th out of 192 boys.

Most of the boys that finished ahead of Jeremy are a year older and in 8th grade. Very strong performance by Jeremy !
