Our Boca Warrior Athletes made their mark at the 2021 Middle School State Championship in beautiful Bradenton, FL. The event was held at IMG Academy, a premier sports training facility.
State Champion Tristan Stephenson Elementary Boys' 800 and 5th place for Jeremy Lopez. Tristan smoked it with a time of 2:32:01 and Jeremy was right behind at 2:43:60.

Erik Moss ran a blistering 5:08:33 to become the Elementary Boys' Florida State Champion for the 1500 meters ! Awesome job Erik !

Special "Shout Outs" to McKenzie & Emily
McKenzie Ferdine (5:13:10) & Emily Pym (5:15:82) both got PRs (personal records) in the 1500 meters. They beat half the field in the fastest section. Coming in 9th & 11th out of all 4 heats. What's cool about this race was that they were in heat section 3 of 4. However, they both beat all girls in the first 3 sections plus 1/2 the field in the fastest section 4 & both PR'd coming from way back in the field. Watch the last 800 meters, especially, to see how all their hard work paid off !

We're proud of all our runners who worked hard to qualify for States. Some didn't get the results they wanted, but that's OK. Track mirrors life sometimes: things are going great & sometimes not as well as what we hope for. Qualifying for States is a huge accomplishment, and everyone should be proud of themselves for giving 100+% !
